SVR’s Take: This is another very large recall for the industry and once again related to an overheating and heat shield issue that can create a fire hazard. While massive recalls by Polaris have probably received the most attention in the industry, other manufacturers have had very large recalls as well.
Horsepower is one of the key vehicle specifications that manufacturers use to differentiate their offerings. This has created an atmosphere of one-upsmanship regarding engine size with each vehicle introduction trying to outdo the last in terms of horsepower. Given the large number of recalls in recent years related to overheating and/or fire hazards one has to wonder if the industry’s expertise in engine technology has outpaced their expertise in handling the additional heat output by these increasingly powerful engines. SVR has been tracking utility vehicle recalls for the past several years.

Hello i recently own a 2016 Honda pioneer 1000 and have read that several owners of the same Honda pioneer 1000 have been having clutch problems
Last month I recently did a complete service on my machine use the recommended oil and filters from Honda the following week went to a ATV Park Road all weekend used it round the farm then started knocking I pulled oil pan down one ride spun other Rod got hot can someone tell me why I did this or is there a recall on this machine
Got a 1000-5 2017 Honda I have had it in the shot for the forth time since they worked on the clutch recall. It hangs up in second gear when it gets hot.
Drive it about 4 miles when it down shifts it will hang up in 2 gear.
You have to let it set then it will shift.
It is in the shop now they said it is the wiring harness and a switch.
The time before they said wires got to hot.
I just don’t know getting fed up with it.
What should I do?
