A recent article in the Wall Street Journal reports about the increasing use of LSVs/NEVs on public roads and the safety concerns the trend raises.  The article mentions two factors that could adversely affect the market in the future.  First, the IIHS may start conducting crash tests of LSVs with passenger vehicles.  Second, the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating how to more tightly regulate the vehicles.
