A critical issue was that the vehicles would have to cross a higher speed road, which would require an exception to state law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\"Brazil, Indiana (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thebraziltimes.com\/story\/2626180.html\" target=\"_blank\">Brazil, IN<\/a> &#8211; Residents registered nearly 100 golf carts and off-road UTVs since an ordinance passed in February, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\"Wakefield, IN (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ccenterdispatch.com\/article_13618952-2f99-59c6-81c8-04738bfd0026.html\" target=\"_blank\">Wakefield, IN<\/a> &#8211; The City Council is considering an ordinance to allow golf cars on certain city streets. The police chief and a councilman are looking at similar ordinances and potentially expanding the ordinance to other types of vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\"Paola, KS (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.republic-online.com\/government\/utvs-soon-will-be-allowed-on-paola-city-streets\/article_a7df97d4-d640-11e9-b32d-cfe07a460fac.html\" target=\"_blank\">Paola, KS<\/a> &#8211; Starting in January, 2020 residents will be able to drive UTVs on city streets with posted speed limits that are 45 mph or less. Regulations require that vehicles have lights, turn signals and reflectors, drivers have a valid license and vehicles be registered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\"St. Joseph, MI (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldpalladium.com\/news\/local\/cart-proposal-taken-out-for-spin\/article_7f3f4808-d40e-593f-aa8a-051cf26db258.html\" target=\"_blank\">St. Joseph, MI<\/a> &#8211; The city commissioners are considering allowing residents to drive golf cars on city streets in the Harbor Shores, Edgewater and Ridgeway neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newportthisweek.com\/articles\/vets-offered-free-rides-to-moving-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\"Newport, RI  (opens in a new tab)\">Newport, RI <\/a>&#8211; The Newport Jitney provides free, advertiser supported rides around town on two low-speed vehicles that seat six and eight passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\"Glynn County, GA (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/thebrunswicknews.com\/news\/local_news\/golf-cart-owners-encouraged-to-prepare-for-new-ordinance\/article_3c67128c-958e-5242-9129-940e1fd07471.html\" target=\"_blank\">Glynn County, GA<\/a> &#8211; A new county ordinance goes into effect in October that will allow golf cars on certain streets. The ordinance has different regulations for LSVs vs. PTVs. A key difference is that LSVs can travel on streets with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less while PTVs can travel only on 25 mph or less streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\"Perry Village, OH (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news-herald.com\/news\/perry-village-establishes-rules-for-low-speed-vehicles-on-roads\/article_02aa88c0-f047-11e9-aeda-5373b70779a3.html\" target=\"_blank\">Perry Village, OH<\/a> &#8211; The Village Council passed an ordinance to allow LSVs, golf cars, UTVs and mini-trucks to be driven on local low speed streets.
