WORCESTER - Curtis Industries, LLC has purchased Artillian, LLC, a privately owned company based in Douglas. The company will continue to operate under the Artilian name as a division of Curtis. Artillian manufactures pallet forks for John Deere front loaders and innovative modular Grapple attachments, according to a news release. Artillian's product line also includes a variety of other specialty attachments and accessories built specifically for John Deere Compact Utility Tractors and a variety of skid-steer machines.
The acquisition will complement Curtis' current product line of cabs and accessories for compact tractors and utility vehicles. Artillian's business and product line will remain unchanged. The focus is to support the current line and develop new and compatible products. Artillian will continue to operate as a direct-to-consumer business via the Artillian website, www.artillian.com.
The company's engineering and production facilities have relocated to Curtis' Worcester location, and Curtis has retained Artillian's employees. The acquisition is expected to result in greater production and shipping efficiencies, as well as an accelerated product development and introduction cycle.
